Of Light and Shade

Leonardo da Vinci’s notes on light and shade are taken from the General Introduction to the chapters on Light and Shade, compiled, edited and translated by Jean Paul Richter in 1883.
They are accompanied by six studies by Judith Rothchild in mezzotint. rocker, roulette and dry point. The copper plates, embossments and screen prints are printed by the artist.

The letterpress in Vendôme Romain has been printed on an Albion press by Mark Lintott who is also responsible for the slip-cases and boxes. The first six, the deluxe edition, contain one of the original copper plates and are presented in clamshell boxes. The regular edition, 7/15 - 15/15 is presented in slipcases.

All the books are numbered and signed by the artist
