Nacre

"Nacre", a collaboration between Ruth Fainlight, poet and Judith Rothchild, artist, is published in an edition of fifty in the form of a leporello. The eight mezzotints were printed on Hahnemülhe paper by the artist.

The hand-set letterpress in Vendôme Romain was printed on an Albion press of 1867 by Mark Lintott. He also made the slipcases and boxes incorporating marbled paper created by the artist.

Numbers one to eight, the édition de tête, are presented in clamshell boxes and include one of the original copper plates, a nacreous shell and a short text in the hand of the author. Numbers 9 to 50 are presented in slipcases. Numbers 45 to 49 are hors commerce. Number 50 is reserved for the Bibliothèque Nationale de France.

All the books are numbered and signed on the colophon by the author and artist.
