Magie Blanche
This work has brought together people of different cultures who share a deep appreciation of the Languedoc. The original text by Marie Rouanet was inspired by ten mezzotints (eleven plates) by Judith Rothchild and the spirit of the restaurant, The Mimosa, created by Bridget and David Pugh.
The book, a suite of prints and texts in loose sheets of Hahnemülhe paper has been published in an edition of thirty. The mezzotints and screen prints are printed by the artist. The text has been printed in handset letterpress in Vendôme Romain on an Albion press of 1867 by Mark Lintott.
The boxes, by Lisa Knoblauch and Mark Lintott, are covered in Fabriano Ingres screen printed with mimosa leaves.
The colophons are signed and numbered by the author and artist, the individual prints are initialled by the artist.
Numbers 26/30 to 29/30 are hors commerce.
The mezzotints are also printed in an edition of twenty.
