Les Jardins Disparus

Marie Rouanet’s short text, reprinted from the last chapter of her book Tout jardin est Eden, is accompanied by eight mezzotints by Judith Rothchild. The book in the form of a leporello is printed on Hahnemühle paper in an edition of 50. Almost all the images include a snail wandering around as if it has invaded the page, as it would an abandoned garden. The wrappers are screen printed green with a helix design which is also reproduced on the slipcase and boxes. The text is hand set and printed on an 1867 Albion press by Mark Lintott. The slipcases and boxes are by Claude Vallin..

The first eight copies (1/50-8/50), the deluxe edition, are presented in clamshell boxes and include one of the original copper mezzotint plates.

The regular edition (9/50-50/50) is presented in slipcases

All the books are signed by the author and artist
